The canonical HeartTalk heart, gently breathing

HeartTalk… coming soon.

Zoe, an AI voice companion, is functioning in production on supported consumer tablets. HeartTalk is building the privacy-bounded caregiver experience around that working foundation.

AI voice companionship for home and community settings

Why HeartTalk exists

Small demands add up. Human connection should not be what gets crowded out.

Family caregivers often carry repeated companionship, reassurance, engagement, and routine check-in demands. Those demands can interrupt work, rest, and family life and leave less time and energy for meaningful human connection. HeartTalk is building a complete caregiver-support solution around Zoe: a functioning companion foundation today, with a Phase 2 caregiver layer that will be implemented, tested, measured, and refined in realistic use.

01

For the person at home

Warm, voice-forward conversation with touch and typed alternatives, continuity from distilled facts, and the ability to erase everything Zoe remembers.

02

For family caregivers

A Phase 2 caregiver layer designed to offer limited, understandable reassurance while keeping private conversation from becoming a monitoring feed.

03

Built around control

Nothing will be visible to a caregiver by default. Each future grant will be explicit, caregiver-specific, category-specific, and revocable.

The destination

Caregiver support built around the person’s control.

During Phase 2, HeartTalk will add and test a caregiver layer that separates every caregiver from every category of information. The user will decide what may be seen and by whom, and will be able to revoke a grant in one act.

Design boundary: the caregiver view is intended to present only granted facts. It will not diagnose, infer mood, score risk, generate absence alerts, or turn private conversation into monitoring.

The destination is in design. The foundation already runs.

What exists today

Zoe is already functioning in production.

On supported preconfigured consumer tablets, Zoe has been tested initiating routine-aligned greetings at three daily windows without waiting for the user to open the app. A time-aware check-in is also offered whenever the user opens HeartTalk.

  • Speak or type; once a voice session begins, the companion can continue hands-free without repeated screen taps.
  • Complete setup independently or with caregiver support, including name confirmation, interests, and daily rhythm.
  • Continue later conversations using distilled facts, with erase-all memory control available at any time.

The path forward

From functioning companion to complete caregiver-support solution.

Now

Working companion in production

Voice-forward conversation, routine-aligned initiation, distilled continuity, and user erase-all control on supported tablets.

Phase 2

Build and test the caregiver layer

Implement, test, measure, and refine permissions, passive visibility, user-confirmed sharing, reliability, and target-population use.

Beyond

Broader implementation

Advance scalability and sustainability only as evidence supports wider home and community deployment.

The privacy spine

Privacy, dignity, and user choice are part of the architecture—not settings added later.

HeartTalk does not keep conversation transcripts as part of the information it stores for future use.
Phase 2 designNothing will be visible to a caregiver by default; sharing will remain the user’s choice.
Phase 2 designThe user always sees who their caregivers are and exactly which information each one can access.

What the current product retains

  • Users can erase everything Zoe remembers at any time.

Safety boundary

Zoe is a companion, not a medical, legal, financial, or emergency service. HeartTalk is not a diagnostic or clinical monitoring system. In an emergency or immediate danger, contact emergency services or a trusted person.

About speech recognition

The current browser-based speech-recognition path may process spoken audio through a third-party recognition service. HeartTalk is evaluating a replacement that better meets the privacy and speech-quality needs of the intended population before full target-demographic deployment. People may also type instead of speaking.

The companion runs today. Phase 2 completes the caregiver experience.
